Remote Patient Monitoring

What Can RPM Do For You

Types
Remote patient monitoring is a technology to enable monitoring of patients outside of conventional clinical settings, such as in the home or in a remote area, which may increase access to care and decrease healthcare delivery costs.
Importance
Remote patient monitoring bridges the barrier of access by providing care to patients where they are, when they need it. It can be used to reach patients in rural areas, and connect patients to specialists who they otherwise would not have access to. It also serves as a great way to reduce appointment breaches.
Effectiveness
Based on our systematic review and examination of high-quality studies on RPM, we found that remote patient monitoring showed early promise in improving outcomes for patients with select conditions, including obstructive pulmonary disease, Parkinson’s disease, hypertension, and low back pain.
How to Get Referred
RPM service must be ordered by a physician or other “qualified healthcare professional,” such as a nurse practitioner, certified nurse specialist, or physician assistant.
Caprock Home Health currently accepts Medicaid for all RPM needs.
